Intro
the-footprint.net is designed to be a source for current and practical information on how to reduce our impact on the planet through education and the sharing of ideas. It is our wish through this “e-zine” that we educate and inspire the citizens of this area to create a sustainable, livable community.

Seasonal Topics
Each season (quarter) we hope to provide, timely in-depth information. This will be locally driven and provided by local members of our community who are knowledgeable on each topic. We try to loosely follow themes by month, providing news and current information on the following topics:
- January: Resolutions
- February: Reduction/Clean-up
- March: Seed Starting
- April: Spring cleaning, natural cleaning
- May: Local food/food miles
- June: Transportation
- July: Energy/Water
- August: Back to School
- September: Harvest, canning, preserving
- October: Herbs
- November: Local Thanksgiving
- December: Homemade gifts
Topics are not limited to the those listed above, but will serve as a guideline. Additional topics may be covered as the need arises.
In Every Issue
We have changed our format, providing information on a seasonal basis rather than monthly. As topics and ideas arise, we will include them under one of the following headings:
- “What’s Fresh Now” ~ what foods are available fresh, from local sources?
- “The 5 Re’s” will inspire new ways to reduce, recycle, reuse, repurpose, and rethink.
- “Six Easy Steps” will provide ideas on what you can easily do to create & contribute to a sustainable community.
- “Earth Friendly Choices” provides information on how you can make better choices.
